Zone de Texte:    By 1965, The Beatles were on their way to becoming the most popular recording artists in history. They had been unsuccessful in arranging a meeting with Elvis during their triumphant world tour the previous year and were anxious to try again. According to John Lennon, they finally met Elvis on August 27, 1965. Elvis was a long-time idol of the Beatles and they were both nervous and excited to meet him. Although Elvis was not overly impressed with his rivals, he was curious to meet them.
   The historic meeting began, again according to Lennon, with an awkward-and awed-silence, at least from John, Paul, George and Ringo. Finally, Elvis commented that "if you're just going to sit there and stare at me, I'm going to bed." That joke broke the tension and an evening of conversation and playing music ensued. Elvis asked his cook, Alvena Roy, to prepare a midnight supper for his guests.
   In her cookbook, she recalled the menu:
